Joel begins with a devastating locust plague and national crisis, calls Judah to wholehearted turning away from sin and turning to God, and expands the crisis into a prophetic vision of the Day of the LORD. Judgment is real, but so are God's kindness and forgiveness, restoration, the outpouring of his Spirit, and his promise to live with his people.
