Esther — Book overview

Esther. Providence, Courage and Deliverance

Esther tells how a Jewish woman becomes queen in the Persian Empire and, with Mordecai’s guidance, courageously approaches the king when Haman plots to destroy the Jewish people. The threatened destruction is reversed, the people are delivered, and the events become associated with the celebration of Purim.
